Rojuro Otoribashi, or Rose weighs a light 73 kg (161 lbs). and is 187 cm (6'1 1/2 in.) tall. He has light purple eyes and long, wavy, blond hair. He wears a bored expression. He kept his hair kind of straight with a small black ribbon at the end. He wore the standard Shihakusho with a captain's haori that is sleeveless. Underneath the haori is a frilled collared shirt. Now Rose works a black suit with a long thigh length jacket which is black. Underneath that is a white frilled shirt with frilled cuffs and a high collar, which is always untucked.

Personality:

Rose is a noticeably fashionable person. He carries a casual air around him. He is also one of the most mellow members of the faction. Rose is interested in music and often discusses whatever music hits have recently come out. For example: the latest Prince of Darkness album. He enjoys reading manga, which he shares Love and Lisa. Rose becomes irritated if anyone spoils a storyline for him.

Although Rose displays a mellow behavior, he cares for his fellow Vizards. He seems happy when he realizes that Hachi is happy to have met Orihime. Rose pays close attention to dramatic effect while in battle. This is seen when he makesa speech on the human nature's habit to band together against a common enemy and his failed attempt to rise from the rubble of a building dramatically, which he was hurled into. Each time, this lead to Love smacking him in response on both occasions.

Over all, Rose is a fun character to be around and has a comedic facade at all times. He makes jokes, speeches, and goes on and on about nothing at all. Though this sometimes gets one everyone else's nerves, he doesn't care in the least. In battle, he can be a force to be reckoned with. He like to make serious lines that end up being funny, with no intention of doing so. He also complains during battle, in a way that is sometime comical. This ends up in a fight between him and whoever is nearest him at the time.

History:

The Days at the Top


Aboout 112 years ago, Rose was promoted to the rank of Captain of the 3rd division. Two years later, he arrived at 1st Division's barracks to introduce the new Captain of 12th Division. Later, Rose, solong witht the other captains, were waiting in lines for the captain meeting. 9 years later, he along with four other captains were dispatched to investigate the disappearences of Rukongai residents and Kensei and his team. Rose followed Love as they showed up at the site of the disappearances. He noticed a Hollowfied Kensei and was greatly surprised at his state. Rose quickly asked if the figure was Kensei. Shinji only siad that he didn't know if it was but if they didn't draw their swords they were as good as dead.

Rose watched as Love attacked the Kensei and observed that Love was outmatchedd. Rose took out his Zanpakutô and decided to attack Kensei along with Lisa. Before Rose could reach Kensei, however, he was brutally attacked from behind by a Hollowfied Mashiro Kuna. Kensei was attacking Lisa and was just about to make a deadly attack when a Kidō blast in the back was sent from Rose. He told him to stop as he didn't use to be the sort of weakling who would attack a woman. Kensei then continued toward him but Rose was saved by the timely interuption one of his fellow Shinigami, Hachi. Hachi use "Kin" Bakudo #99 to restrain Kensei. As Rose and the others began discussing what to do next, Hiyori, another fellow Shinigami, attacked Shinji and showed herself to be Hollowfied also.

Before anyone could do anything, a darkness fell around everyone and they were attacked by a unseen attacker. The assailant was revealed to be Kaname Tosen who was carring out the orders of Sosuke Aizen. He was the person behind the disappearances and Hollowfication experiments. Just as Aizen gave the order to kill the now Hollowfied Shinigami, 12th Division's captain, Kisuke Urahara and captain of the Kido Corps, Tessai Tsukabishi came and saved them. Aizen, slong with Gin and Tosen, made their timely escape as Tessai used a forbidden Kido; to transport and preserve the hollowfied Shinigami to 12th Division' barracks. This is where Urahara would try to reverse the process using the Hogyoku. Unfortunately for all of them, it failed.


The New Days of Rojuro Otoribashi


The next time we see Rose is when Ichigo Kurosaki arrives at the vizard's werehouse to use them help him control his inner Hollow. Rose stands around as Ichigo and Hiyori fight it out. He is startled when Ichigo's inner hollow takes control and begins to attack her. He watches Ichigo's inner Hollow nearly choke Hiyori to death. The Vizard, in turn, quickly capture Ichigo before he can kill Hiyori. Later, Rose goes down into his underground training area with his teammates. He watches when Ichigo defeats his inner Hollow and regains control over his body.

Shikai Appearance:

After Rose gives the command Play, Kinshara releases into a gold whip with a flower at the tip; the hilt, however stays the same. The whip is as a long-range based weapon. Rose can use it to do long sweeps and can also change its direction instantly with a single smooth motion. Rose can also retract it back to him easily and speedily. When Kinshara is being used, it sounds like piano keys being played lightly.

Shikai Abilities:

Kinshara Sōkyoku Dai Jūichiban - Izayoi Bara (Golden Sal Tree Sonata Number Eleven - Sixteen Day-Old Moon Rose)-As the flower tip of the whip attaches to an enemy, Rose can tap the whip with his fingers which causes it to glow and the the sound of a guitar string being stummed. The sound that is being made the travels up the whip to the tip which creates a ring of rebounded sound that makes a shockwave that destroys everything within a certain area.

Melody Attack(hollow form only)- it creates a 'wire' of highly compressed reiatsu which encircles foes very rapidly, the thinness of the wire allows it to cut into things as the opponent gets constricted

“Oh! A new magna is out? I’ve got to get and read it before Love does and spoils it all.” Rose commented as he over heard Love and Lisa about it. But first he had to finish the one he was on. Then he still had one more to read after that. So while Love and Lisa were talking away, Rose was concentrating on finishing the current copy of Shonen Jump. A book, in Rose’s opinion, was another form of art. Sometimes it expanded your vocabulary with better words. The use of those words was art. Another thing that he enjoyed was listening to music. That of which, Prince of Darkness is his favorite artist. These are the things Rose asks Love about all the time. Not any more.

While finishing up his magna, Rose thought of a sly plan. He wanted to train a little bit but he was going to make it interesting. “Hey Love.” He started. “Feel like a little training?” Just like Rose knew he would, Love quickly accepted the friendly challenge. They both walked down to the underground training area that the group had and on the way, Rose made a proposal. ”Let’s make this interesting shall we?” he asked in musical kind of voice. ”Loser has to buy Shonen Jump for the next two months and don’t get to read them until the winner finishes at least half of them. Deal?” Love agreed and Rose added in a couple last minute rules. “We start with out masks on, only take it off to save time, and we start out straight out Zanpakutou. Shikai comes later.”

Standing in their usual starting spot and stance, both men unsheathed their Zanpakutou and smiles. “You ready?” Both men “swiped” on their masks and ran at each other at full speed. The clash of their swords echoed everywhere. Rose actually struggled to maintain the balance between them. He broke off and jumped back then using his flash step, he tried to sneak up behind Love. Rose knew he would probably see this coming so as Love was turning around to counter-attack, Rose used flash step again to appear three feet in front of him. Swinging his blade, he thought he had Love caught off guard. Oh was he wrong. Love came back around swinging as hard as ever. As their Zanpakutou clashed once more, Rose commented, “I grow tired of this equal fight.” He jumped back once again and said, “Play, Kinshara”

Naturally, Love released his Shikai as well. Rose flashed stepped up to the nearest plateau since his long-ranged Shikai was no good up close. With once smooth flick of his wrist, Kinshara was sent flaying in Love’s direction. As Love braced for the impact, Rose changed its direction to go around Love. Quickly, Love battered down Rose’s weapon and again with a flick of the wrist, Rose extracted Kinshara from Love. “My, my.” Said Rose as he removed his mask from his face. “I have my work cut out for me but I have no intention of buying any magna for the next two months.” he smiled and knew that if he was to win this fight and the bet, he was going to have to out smart Love and keep in the dark. But how could he do that when his opponent knew his every move as well. *It’s an art. I am an artist and this is my art.* he thought as he brought Kinshara around for another spin.
