Age: 100
Gender: Female
Appearance:
Petite and youthful, Nemu has black hair with slightly parted bangs and is pulled back into a long braid. Her expression is almost always melancholic, and it is rare to see her smile or show any real joy in her distinctive green eyes. Her uniform consists of a short black kimono with a white nagajuban under it. The sleeves of her kimono are not as wide as those worn by most Shinigami and the upper parts of the sleeves are puffed. She wears a traditional wide white obi with a red cord fastening it. On her left sleeve is her lieutenant's armband. In addition she wears white gloves that cover only the back of her hands and wrists; as well as a dark red choker.Personality:
Nemu's treatement by her 'father' is, of course, a key point in the development of her personality. She has very little belief that her life means anything at all, and sometimes brings herself to question whether or not she's even a person, being created the way she was.History:
She's highly introverted, preferring not to speak when she's around Mayuri, mainly out of anticipation that her words or thoughts would anger him and he would punish her. There is no fear in her relationship with her 'father', the feeling instead being replaced with an acceptance and an intense desire to please the man. She is highly loyal to him as a side effect of that. She's more than willing to put herself into harms way as a way to further him in his prospections... Mainly because she believes that she is the only person that truly understands him, and thus, as his 'daughter', it's her job to remain his loyal and devoted companion.
Nemu is usually emotionless. Being 'raised' the way she was didn't allow for much room to grow emotionally, so she just remains neutral. There are very few things that can make her smile or laugh - among them are her duties as vice-president of the women's association, and the thrill of a breakthrough with her father's pet projects.
Nemu doesn't believe in love, having never really seen it. The only times she's seen love is when she sees the pain in peoples' eyes when they speak of the deceased or the betrayers. Nemu often wonders if what she feels towards her father could be constituted as 'love', though she's not thinking the romantic sort. She's a very thoughtful person, often delving into very deep, emotional thought processes, which she manages to hide under sighs and sideways glances.
Little else is known about Nemu outside of the fact she is the artificially created "daughter" of Mayuri Kurotsuchi. He seems to have used a combination of Gigai and Artificial soul technologies to bring her to existence. Nemu has a substantial amount of strength, even by Shinigami standards.Swordsmanship: Beginner
As Nemu normally does not carry her Zanpakutō, she relies on her hand-to-hand combat skill in battle. Like his own body, Mayuri has implanted various modifications and chemicals within Nemu to use against his opponents. Nemu is mostly immune to the poisons used by Mayuri, including the deadly one used in his Bankai, as well as possesses within herself an augmentation chemical. It is also these modifications that allows Mayuri to revive her when she is in a death-like state.
Though not as knowledgeable as her father, Nemu does know many things regarding the chemicals used by Mayuri in his work, enough to keep an antidote in case anyone becomes poisoned by him. She appears to also move at high speeds, as seen when Nemu attacks Uryū Ishida to determine whether he still has his Quincy powers. Her body was designed by Mayuri to have much more durability than a normal person's. She can take wounds that would be fatal to another person and survive, as she demonstrated upon being stabbed by Mayuri during his fight with Uryū.
Mayuri himself noted that she was designed to take much more punishment than any normal human or Shinigami could ever sustain. She achieved her Shikai through what most people would consider a vigorous torture session, though the method worked. However, it was deemed a failure, because no creature save Nemu or Mayuri would be able to survive the amount of torture that he inflicted on her.
Being the creation of her father, Nemu was exceptionally intelligent as she went through the academy - not even the great and mighty Kurotsuchi-taicho could save his makeshift daughter from that, even if he'd wanted to. No, that was more of a test to see if she was capable of functioning on a public level, which she of course passed with flying colors.
She, due to the fact that Division 12 had no fukutaicho (and no one wanted that position, anyway, with her crazy father as taicho), became fukutaicho immediately upon exiting the academy - something unheard of and highly risky. But of course, it was Kurotsuchi... what could anyone expect? She was actually the best choice - highly loyal, able to take the beatings, and comprehending more of her 'father' than anyone else ever had.

Zanpakuto:
Not much is known about Nemu's Zanpakutō as she usually does not carry it around; however, her Zanpakutō takes the form of a thin katana with a green hilt and a seemingly warped guard.[/size][/blockquote]Zanpakuto Spirit:
Her spirit looks identical to her father - a rather interesting turn of events, don't you think? Despite having a very, very similar name to her father's zanpakuto, it takes the form of her father. Probably the reason she doesn't carry it around.Inner World:
An exact replica of the divison 12 laboratory, down to cords plugged into the wall.Release Phrase: Udesogi Jizō, Heki. (Arm-tearing Jizo, tear.)
Shikai Appearance:
The blade looks exaclty the same as it did before, save the guard. It warps more, stretching around to cover most of her hand instead of just part of it.Shikai Abilities:
none, as she never even carries her zanpakuto. eh, it's not really that there aren't any... she just doesn't know what they are.Bankai Appearance:

The lab was eerily silent, when her father wasn't there.
Nemu was seated in one of the tall-backed chairs that Mayuri frequently sat in to stare at his massive monitors, though she'd turned the chair to face away from the monitor towards something else. She had her feet pulled up in the chair, arms wrapped around her legs and chin resting on her knees as she stared at something, not blinking for a moment.
The bubbling noise was back. She had wondered if her father had killed his latest pet project - it hadn't bubbled in hours. But there was the noise, the occasional gurgle of the filtered oxygen interacting with the hydrogen dioxide mixture that filled the tall, thin tube. It glowed a green color - the creature inside it was stationary as always, merely floating in the liquid that made up the embrionic fluid of it's mechanical womb. Watching the thing, she couldn't help but wonder - had she looked like that at some point?
She did have her questions about where she'd come from - but Mayuri would never tell her, not trusting her to keep the secret of her creation. Maybe that was a sign that he didn't know - maybe she had been an accident? It was possible... She'd heard that he'd been wanting a son. So for her to have been a daughter, something had to have gone wrong.
She got up, moving with clicking noises as her shoes hit the floor, moving closer to the glowing green tube. The rest of the Division was on holiday for the day... No one was there. Only the large screens she'd left behind her and the glowing mass in front of her let off any light. Had she not been raised and spent her entire life in this lab, she might have thought it was creepy. But she had, and thus, it wasn't.
She turned her attention towards the charts on the scanner - coded for only her father's genetic signature to open. She swallowed lightly, wondering, then laid her hand on the scanner, which promptly opened up and allowed her the charts. She nearly laughed out loud - there was no way that he'd forgotten something like that, had he? No, he just must have decided that he didn't care if she messed with whatever it was.
She stood in the faint green light, easily deciphering her 'father's' chicken scratch scrawl. 'The subject is non-responsive... once more. All manners of tests to awaken or cause a nervous system reaction failed. Nemu, see if you can fix it.'
She blinked. So it wasn't that he hadn't cared, it was that he'd wanted her to do it. Ah, he knew her too well. She turned her attention back towards the creature in the tube, noting that it was a male... whatever it was. Perhaps he was trying again to make himself a son, and he just couldn't figure out what had made her work. She read through the charts twice... enough to memorize them.
Mayuri would be gone for a while... the Taicho's meetings had been so long recently. And of course, it was taicho only. She had to stay home. She sat back in her chair, thinking for a few minutes. Then she hopped up quickly, moving over to the mechanism that controlled the levels of the chemicals in the creature's, watching the color change from green to blue. The lab went silent as the bubbles stopped.
Sighing, she turned, preparing to change it back and hope the thing started breathing again. But something caught her eye. The thing moved. Her head snapped up, watching. Sure enough, it moved again. As she stood and watched, it turned to face her, uncurling long digits - fingers, maybe?
When it opened it's eyes, she couldn't help but gasp. This creature was certainly her younger brother - the eyes were identical to hers. And as that singular sound made it's way out of her lips, the glass around the thing shattered, unbalanced because of the changing chemicals.
The thing was choking - it wasn't ready to be born yet. And there was no way that she could come up with something to contain him in... She did the only thing she could think of, reaching down and picking the basket-ball sized creature up, snapping what would have been it's neck.
It would have died either way. It didn't matter. Now, she'd just have to clean up this mess and figure out how to justify the broken tube and dead creature to the Division... her father would already know.
