A day at school (open)

It was a bright and beautiful day. There was a cool breeze but it still seemed to be warm. Classes at the shinigami academy had just gotten out and Michael was in a hurry to get some studying or training done. Either one was alright with him but he just knew he was in a hurry to get started. He was obviously a student since he wore the shinigami academy uniform. Though his was blue since he was a boy compared to the girls uniform which was mostly red. As he hurried along his black hair blew in the breeze though it had red highlights in it. His hair would be shoulder length if it was straight but instead it was wavy and combed back slightly. Michael was fairly small but that was to be expected as he was still young and it would still take time for him to grow. He stood at four feet five inches the last time he checked.

As he walked along he saw a few students and even a teacher or two pass by. "I wonder if theres anyone worth while," he said mostly to himself but anyone could of heard him if they within a fairly short distance. He continued walking when he became deep in thought. What was he gonna do train or study either one would be beneficial he thought but which should he do. Suddenly without meaning to he ran into someone which caused him to fall backward and drop the books he had been carrying. One of the books was on the arrancar which he found interesting this fell near to other books. One was on all the shinigami in the seritei but the other was his own personal notebook full of notes he had taken from many other books. These notes consisted of kido spells, biology on the many races there were, and even a few other funs facts about miscellaneous things.

Looking up at the person he ran into he said "Sorry I wasn't watching were I was going," he hoped the person wasn't too angry with him after all it wasn't like his size could hurt anyone.

[Sam]

Ukitake was at the academy, giving a special lesson for the students. The students, the future Shinigami. Ukitake was thinking of his own years at the academy teaching young minds the skills they will learn and use in the field. It was at this time that one of the young minds ran into him, causing him to fall down.

His long white hair fell over his face as the books landed near him. He wiped his hair away from his face as the student apologized to him. "It's quite alright, just be more careful next time." He said laughing and smiling at Micheal while he started to pick up the books. He spotted the titles of the books he found and raised an eyebrow.

" So your looking into the different races, that's a tough subject. Sounds like someone wants to be in Division 12." He joked as he stood up, holding the books out to Micheal.

When Michael looked a little bit of horror went into him. Not that the captain was someone he should be afraid he was more worried that he hadn't noticed who he was soon. "CAPTAIN UKITAKE," he said shooting straight up off the ground saluting him. Michael had made sure to memorize every captain in the seritei so as to not offend anyone. Then he captain was smiling and laughing a little which made him calm done just a bit. The captain made a comment on one of his books and how he might be thinking of joining squad 12.

"Um not quite sir," he said taking the books from his hand. "Though the 12th squad might be interesting I'm hoping more for the Kido corps myself. The reason I have the book is because I find the arrancar very interesting seeing as they were once hollows with no real drive but to consume and then they gained shinigami powers and in turn feelings like the relationships between the espada and there fraccion. But I seem to be rambling I apologize," he said bowing to the captain. "What about you captain whats your take on the subject," he asked hoping the captain might share a little wisdom with him.

[Sam]

"Hmm.." He said as he brought his hand to his chin. Thinking about Arrancar was something he did very often since the winter war, they were like Shinigami in so many ways. He could remember Starrk and his separate self Lillinette, if only he didn't have to fight them.

"Arrancar are a strange bunch. Unlike Hollows, they seem to want to form relationships and bonds toward others. This gives them a sense of humanity that makes it hard to fight them." He stated his opinion on the matter as he remembered Micheal's statement about the kido corps.

Kido Corps were something of a hardship, needing to be more then proficient in the art of casting and use. "That is a difficult road but I'm sure if you set your mind to it you will achieve your goal." Ukitake placed his hand on Micheal's shoulder as he gave him a reassuring smile and an encouraging sentence. He was sure that he could make it.

"Oh, you must be in a hurry for class, let me escort you to your class." He bumped his fist on his open palm as he realized the time and that would explain why he was run down.

[Mina]

Lilly had decided to take a few days off of her Captain duties to teach classes at the Academy. Unfortunately, that meant Matsumoto was in charge. She shuddered delicately, and called out the first name on her attendance list.

"Michael Angelo?" She looked around but no one raised their hand, or said 'here'.

She sighed, her first day of teaching and somebody was playing hooky. She heard a few voices down the hall, and she could only hope that the student she was supposed to be watching, wasn't there.

She walked out and saw Ukitake. She slapped her hand to her face, and walked over too the two. Her Captain's haori slightly sagging around her.

""Ohaiyou, Ukitake-dono," she waved.

Michael was absolutely pleased that Captain Ukitake was willing to share his thoughts and knowledge about the arrancar. He noded along listening very closely and was happy with the anwser he had given. "Yes I suppose that would make hard to fight them," he agreed. Then the Captain made a comment on how he planned to go into the kido corps. "Thank you Captain I do plan to try as hard as I can to achieve a seat there and I'm happy you believe in me," he said smiling as he was happy to have the support of a Captain.

Michael looked at the time and shocked to see the Captain was right it was getting a little close to his next. "Thank you I would love to be escorted by a Captain to my class," he said he felt really lucky, a Captain wanted to escort him to class that had to be a great honor. So he went walking along with the Captain. When they were almost there it seemed that he was late. "Well I hope the teacher is very understanding," he said jokingly. But just then someone greeted Captain Ukitake from the direction they were walking. To Michael's surprise it was another Captain. Lilly Hitsugaya one of the newest Captains of the Gotei 13. "Its an honor to make your acquaintance Captain Lilly Hitsugaya," he said bowing to her. Meeting to Captains in one day he was so lucky.

[Sam]

"Ohaiyou, Hitsugaya-kun." He waved back in a happy way as he walked over with Micheal. He had a big grin on his face as he approached her and he placed his hands inside his haori as he got closer.

"I hope you are doing well today, I heard you were teaching a class today." He said as he smiled at her, towering over her as he stared down at her. In some ways she was like both Toshiro and Rangiku, in more then one way. He was sure she would make him proud, but it made him sad that Toshiro was gone.

It caused a rain cloud in his head, but he dare not show it in front of Lilly. Her recovery was more important then his own, so he kept the smile on his face to hide his own sorrow. "Oh I just remembered something, I got you this. I was told that teenage girls in the human world adore these things." Randomly he pulled out a small phone strap with a chibi dragon and cat on it.

[Mina]

Lilly rubbed the back of her head as the arge hari sagged around her small frame. She stretched and smiled as the student talked to her. She shook his hand, and grinned. "Hello you know my name, but I don't know yours. Michael Angelo?" She asked with hope in her voice.

She also looked to Ukitake and saw him looking at her weirdly. After a few moments she realized what the look was. It was the look she was given when people saw her and are instantly reminded of Toshiro.

In more than one way she was a puzzle. She still was putting all of her pieces back together. It hurt her more when people looked at her, because if she had gone with her father she could at least have distracted his killer. She tooka deep breath and put her smile back on. Ukitake then buried himself within his haori then pulled out a key chain.

She laughed and took out her "phone". The truth was all shinigami had one, it was more of a connection to Soul Society as well as a hollow detector. She hooked it on, and looked up at the taller, white haired Captain. "Thank you Ukitake-sama," she said, grinning from ear-to-ear.

"Yes, My name is Michael Angelo Captain Hitsugaya," he said shaking her hand as well. This to him flet odd he was used to saluting Captains but he was shaking ones hand almost as equals this to him was a great honor. The Captains seems to get a little depressed the only thing that came to Michael's mind was the death of the original Captain Hitsugaya. That truely was a tragedy in his eyes as well but he would not show it as it seemed to way hard on the others minds as well. Captain Ukitake pulled out a key chain as a gift for the other Captain that made Michael cause that would most likely take the pain away from the Captains in the form of a distraction.

Thats when Michael remembered he had been late for class. "I'm sorry I'm late for class I got a little star struck running into Captain Ukitake and I take full responsibility," he said bowing apologetically. He hoped she would forgive him. "Also I'm suck a nerd but do you guys think I could ask autographes in my pocket book," he said retrieving it from his back pocket. He was hopeful but would understand if they didn't want to.

[Sam]

Ukitake was glad she liked her gift, it took him sometime to find those two figures. He patted her on the head, just like he use to for Toshiro and smiled. "You're very welcome Hitsugaya-kun." Oh the embarrassment he caused her from that one gesture could come back at him, but for now she was Toshiro's daughter which would make him a sort of uncle figure.

"Please, it was my fault for delaying him. He's a curious boy and I couldn't help but answer his questions." He said scratching the back of hie white mane.

He was taken aback by the sudden request for an autograph. It's not everyday that people come up to him and ask for his autograph and he wasn't sure how to go about doing it. "Um, sure I guess." He said scratching the back of his head before he reached out for the book, and wrote his name out on a blank page. He even wrote an encouraging Haiku to keep going for his goal.

She smiled to Michael as he explained why he was late, and nodded. When Ukitake tried to help him out as well, she waved him off with her hand. She sighed and tucked a lock of hair behind her ear. A light blush spread over her cheeks as Ukitake patted her hair when she remembered something. She leaned in close to Ukitake and whispered.

"Ukitake-sama I heard that you use to send my father candy, I was wondering..." she didn't finish her sentence, but looked into his eyes hoping he'd figure out her meaning.

She moved back, and laughed at Michael's request. She took the book after Ukitake, and wrote her name. She wrote it in a lovely cursive dotting her i's with flowers. She thought it was fitting, being that her name was Lilly. She took of her haori and shook it free of dust. She brought it close and hugged it before putting it back on. She then gasped and ran back to the classroom forgetting she even had a class.
