It was nostalgic coming back to the Thirteenth Division's headquarters. Last time she was there, she was an unseated nobody, only known as the spoiled daughter of the Shimo. Now she was a Captain, still spoiled, of course, but now, she was spoiled and important. Well, wasn't that a kick in the pants?
Gemma walked down the halls of the building, a small, holier-than-thou smirk on her face. Her haori fluttered behind her proudly as she passed groups upon groups of her former Division-mates, as if her promotion couldn't be rubbed into their faces any more. She was soaking in all the attention and importance, and loving every minute of it. Yes, it was very self-righteous, but hey, that's Gemma Shimo for you.
But showing off and rubbing her position in everyone's faces wasn't the only reason she stopped by her old division. She was there to find the one and only Jushiro Ukitake. There was a question that had been nagging her for quite some time, and she hoped that the white-haired captain would know the answer.
But he was nowhere to be found. It was as if Ukitake was running away from her. But that was a preposterous idea. Why would he be running away from her? Hell, most men ran towards her.
She knocked on the door of his office and waited impatiently. Gemma Shimo did not wait. After an eternity of five seconds, she opened the door, frowning when she saw that it was empty of a tall, white-haired man. Well, since she was there anyway, Ukitake should come back any minute. Entering the room, she closed the door behind her, and sat on the sofa, crossing her right leg over her left leg. She looked at her nails, waiting for him to arrive.

Why did something so wrong feel oh so right?
It had been an exhausting day. It seemed her reluctant promotion had granted her responsibilities she simply did not want. At first, she assumed such a promotion to Lieutenant would grant her access to not just push her responsibilities on others, but relax while the underlings did all the work. Of course, for the Second Division, that was merely a dream that was far too out of reach for her. With what seemed like sixty stacks of papers, twenty training sessions, and a years worth of... whatever the hell she was supposed to do that day was over, Kyra used her not-so-stealthy moves to escape her Captain's wrath. Her failed attempts in doing so had forced her on yet another errand.
Whether it was random or by choice was still uncertain. Nevertheless, the Lieutenant of the Second Division had found herself napping on one of the couches within the Thirteenth Division Captain's personal quarters. She had some sort of paper, document, or something to hand him from the Second Division Captain, but it had long since escaped her mind. Since the Captain wasn't there at the moment, she had opted to wait for him on the couch... of course, a good hour had passed and Kyra had since then, fallen fast asleep.
The knock on the door had woken her abruptly with only fractions of a second to react. It seemed in her sleep, Kyra had made herself quite at home. Her sandals were off, her hair was sticking up, her sash was nearly fully unraveled and half of her robe was hanging off her shoulder. Those crimson hues attempted to blink the tiredness away, but her intuition wouldn't allow her another second to pause. With speed she didn't even know she possessed, she hid herself in the only available hiding spot fractions of a second before the door opened. With her heart racing and thanking whatever higher being had allowed her to remain vertically challenged, Kyra was crouched down, hidden under the Captain's desk, hoping that one whoever opened the door saw that the Captain wasn't there, would leave.
... of course, her good fortune never came.
With the small amount of space between the floor and the bottom of the desk, Kyra peeked out to find an unfamiliar Captain making herself quite comfortable on the couch she had just been sleeping on. What shocked her further, however, was the fact that her sandals were completely forgotten! One was completely lost, while the other remained half tucked underneath the couch! Luckily, it didn't seem as though the woman knew it was there. She swallowed the lump in her throat and tried desperately to develop telepathic abilities to wish this woman away so she could escape unscathed...

"Aww, some tea is all I need." The long white haired Captain said as he walked back to his office. Since he did not have a lieutenant yet, he has to get his own tea. Not that he was complaining, he liked making tea it was so relaxing.
However his relaxation will have to wait, as he rounded the corner he spotted a familiar figure enter his office. He quickly hugged the wall as Gemma entered his office completely before he peered around the corner. Why is she here? He thought as he hid his reiastu and gradually tip toed over to his door. Her obsession of him was beyond what the other two had, they wanted his praise but Gemma, she was different. He didn't know what her deal is, one moment she's nice but in public she is down right mean.
He peered inside, just enough to see what she was doing. She was just sitting on his couch, making herself comfortable. That is a comfortable couch. He thought as he spotted a sandal sticking out of the couch. That's when he spotted Kyra on the ground, well just her hair. He could recognize that hair from a mile away.
Oh no, if Gemma sees her there things might get bad. He thought gulping at what he must do. He took a deep breath, straighten himself up, made his uniform nice and walked in. Acting surprised to see her, Ukitake held his tea cup, and put a smile on his face. "Oh, Shimo-kun, what brings you by?" He said as he as he secretly motioned to Kyra to make a move for her sandal.

Of course Gemma noticed the girl under the table. How could she not? Either way, Gemma ignored her presence, something that she probably wanted, since she was hiding under a desk in the first place. She let her mind wander as to why a female was in Ukitake's office in the first place, but she was brought back to reality when the door opened and the aforementioned captain walked in.
"Captain Ukitake, you look well," she said, looking up without getting up from the couch, "By the way, your couch is wonderful." It was this time that she stood up and straightened out her clothes. "I came to ask you something,", she reached into her kimono and pulled out a sheet of paper, "I got this yesterday. A division evaluation report. How in God's name do I fill one of those out?"
She contined to ignore the one under the table...for now. Ukitake seemed to move between them...or maybe she was just over-thinking things. Either way, she could tease the captain about it...jokingly, of course.

'Shit, shit, shit, shit!'
She hadn't really done anything wrong... aside from skipping out on some work and napping in some other Captain's room. Still, she felt as though if she were caught, she'd be in a lot of trouble. Nevertheless, as her attempts at suddenly evolving her mental abilities to that of complete telepathy failed miserably, Kyra noticed the hand signal from the white haired Captain. He wasn't pissed with her? Well, quite honestly, from what she had heard about him, he rarely got upset with anyone. He seemed like a fairly laid back man.
From her knelt, side-of-face-to-floor position, she removed her view from the small crack between the front of the desk and the floor and began to crawl out to the front in hopes to escape without the woman's notice. It seemed, however, that fate itself would not allow her to simply crawl away from this situation. There was some resistance; something holding her back. A small, jagged piece of the wooden desk had splintered out enough to get caught on the back of the girl's uniform. In a slight panic, Kyra attempted to gently, yet forcefully yank herself free... the result, however, was not what she had hoped.
After three slight tugs, Kyra had opted for 'heavy-duty-strength-enforced-pull' mode. Had she gone with half that strength, she perhaps would have only walked away with a torn robe and a bit of embarrassment. With her bad misfortune, however, the tug-of-war with the desk only forced it to topple backwards, knocking all of the papers and whatever else on to the floor with a loud 'bang.' The sudden movement forced her to duck, though her robe had yet to be fully pulled from where it was stuck on the desk. That, of course, resulted in the top robe coming completely off, while the lower white remained held on at one shoulder. Luckily, she had moved just in time to keep the other half up, with only a portion of the straps that kept her chest in place, exposed.
"Uh..."
With her hair sticking up, nearly disrobed, and appearing as though she had just woken up, the poor girl could only hope that assumptions of the situation wouldn't be expressed.
"It's not what you think," she immediately turned to the unknown blond, then turned to the Captain. "I uh... was here to deliver papers! And... while waiting, sort of fell asleep on your couch; yea, while I was waiting!"
At that moment, she began to pat herself down, as if to actually find the report in which her Captain had ordered her to deliver. Of course, after some scuffling with the papers on the floor, she managed to find it. Adjusting her robe some, she extended the unorganized documents to him with a forced smile, a hesitant laugh, and the moment he grabbed them, she sprinted from the room with a hue of red on her cheeks and hoping that word wouldn't get back to her squad about this incident.

Ukitake looked at the paper Gemma held up to him, relieved that was the reason behind her visit. "Yes, well it's simple really. You just fill out the information that is relevant to each member of your squad." He said remembering how often he had to sit and write down the reports. It took some time but they always got done.
That's when a thought crossed his head and looked toward his desk. "I might have some old ones you could look a..." He stopped mid sentence when the incident happened. Kyra had come out from under the desk nearly topless with a rather embarrassed look on her face. His shoulder dropped allowing some of his rub to become loose as his face went into this expression of disbelief and horror.
Gemma would certainly jump to conclusions, even though Kyra said it wasn't has it seems, and this would most likely cause rumors and jokes. He took the papers from Kyra as she hurried herself. "Thank you." Was all he said as she got out of his office, leaving him with Gemma, and a whole lot of explaining.

Gemma turned just in time to hear the loud bang[/b] and see the large desk topple over, spilling its contents all across the room. She feigned a look of surprise as the redhead behind the desk scrambled to gather her things...and clothes. The blonde mustered every ounce of self control she had to prevent herself from making an outright remark. "Oh, cover yourself up. Have you no decency?" she remarked, waving her hand in the air. She turned to watch the girl say something about sleeping and handing over some papers before flying out the room.
Turning to Ukitake, Gemma couldn't help but raise an eyebrow, her facial expression full of amusement. "I can honestly say I'm surprised. I always pegged you as brunette-type. But redheads? And in your office too? I am shocked to the bone. Have you missed me that much, Ukitake dear?" she said, dropping all formalities aside. In any case, they were of the same rank now, despite him being her senior. It wasn't as if Ukitake would say anything anyway.
She looked at the cluttered floor, now covered in massive amounts of paper and office supplies. "It looks like you need a hand."

He knew that was coming as Gemma teased him on the fact that a nearly naked woman caused such a mess. He wasn't sure how to react to it, and stood there for a few seconds before he saw the mess that was made. "I would like that very much, thanks." Ukitake said as he gave her a smile after he straighten up and fixed his robe.
He wasn't worried about her drop in formalities, he was ok with it. If it made her comfortable to do it, then by all means he'd let her. He went over to his desk, tilting it back to its standing position before he started to pick up the mass amounts of paper.
As he started to pick up the papers he smiled slightly. "Well, I guess in some way I missed you." He said piling the papers in his arm. In a strange way he did miss her. Like he missed Rukia, but more. She was different, it was a strange feeling.
"You've grown in so many ways, I'm proud of you." He said looking up at her with that calm closed eye smile.

Gemma smirked, tucking a blonde strand behind her ear before bending down and picking up some of the loose sheets. She straightened them on the table, before clipping them together with a paperclip. Looking up, she shook her head slightly and arranged more papers. "That's sweet of you." she remarked with a small smile. "Keep this between us, will you, but it has been a pleasure working under you as well. I miss this Division." she added.
That was true. Now that she had been promoted, people actually depended on her. It had only been a few months, but the position itself was already getting to her. Years work of backlogged paperwork, added to deadlines on the Seireitei Communication and enormous family problems made for one very big headache. In fact, the main reason she actually stopped by was simply because the Thirteenth Division was just so...calming.
She looked at the white-haired captain. "So, aside from having such lovely company over, what have you been up to?"

He stood with papers in hand, placing them on his desk as organized as he could on his desk. He smiled when she mentioned her missing the division and working for him was a pleasure. Ukitake tried his best to make everyone in his Division comfortable, relaxed , and calm. Even after his near death injury, he tried his best to keep his Division in a comfortable state. "I will." He said promising to keep that last thing to himself.
He won't let that Kyra thing get him down as he scratched his white head. "Well, Kiyone has been somewhat tamed lately. Though only by a bit." He laughed slightly as he reached for the last bit of paper on the ground.

Gemma smirked. Ah, Kiyone. She was certainly an adorable girl, always fighting for Ukitake's attention, along with that other one...what was his name again? Sentaro? Whatever, it didn't matter either way. "So, she's hasn't given up on stalking, harassing, annoying and generally bothering you for a promotion yet?" she said, taking the last few sheets, some of which had managed to slip under the couch, and straightening them before placing them on another pile on the table. "She's such an cute girl."
She peeked underneath the couch once more, just in case, when her hand brushed against something that definitely wasn't paper. Pulling it out, Gemma couldn't help but smirk as she held a sandal in the air. "Well, what do we have here? A little memento from that charming red-head? How adorable."

It was time to do some soul searching. Er... Bya-kun searching. She smiled and giggled to herself as she though about finding him and eating lunch together. "Hehe, I wonder where Bya-kun is. We can share a lunch today and-" she cut herself off as she remembered that she had no food on her.
She looked from left to right just to find walls. Her mouth opened up as she realized that she was by Ukki's office. "Ukki will have some treats and maybe some candy too," she said cheerily and ran that direction.
Yachiru leaped over some passing lower ranked members and stepping on their heads. She made a flew flips as she seemed like a pink haired child flying above them. "UKKI!" she yelled out just before getting to the entrance of his office.
She lifted her hand up in a friendly wave and big smile. "Hi Ukki, do you have some treats for me? Or maybe some candy?" she said and looked around noticing the other lady. Yachiru gave her a good look going up and down. She had an hour glass figure going from wide to slim to wide. "Huh? Who're you?" she asked. Then she thought of an idea of who she was and opened her mouth up as if she figured out something really cool. Yachiru gasped, "Are you Ukki's girlfriend?!" she asked automatically assuming.

Ukitake was rather embarrassed with the whole incident with the young Lieutenant, causing a slight blush at the statement. However, what pushed him over the edge of was the appearance of another familiar face.
Yachiru, the youngest Lieutenant he's ever heard of, pops in for candy but ask if Gemma was his girlfriend. That caused his face to go red like a cartoon teapot as he was lost for words. All he could do was reach in his robe and pull out a bag of candy for the small girl without even realizing he was doing it.

Gemma wasn't finished with the sandal discussion. There was a long list of teasing that she still needed to get to, such things being the sandal in question being a 'memento', questioning his choice in women...she could take almost anything and use it against other people, even a missing sandal. It was a gift.
But as she went for another round of verbal kicking the dog, the door to the office flew open once more. In fact, she half expected the red-haired girl to come running in to look for the misplaced sandal. Now that would have been quite the sight to behold. But, alas, the shade of hair that entered was a shade twenty times lighter and twice as bright. Actually, Gemma had to look down to see the energetic pink-haired demon lieutenant she had heard so much about.
"I'm his friend, my dear, not his 'girl'friend." she replied to Yachiru's question without batting an eye, though she had to admit, the shade of red that Ukitake's face was turning into was really quite a show, "Besides, I wouldn't think he's the type for someone like me."

Yachiru quickly snatched the candy from Ukki and gave a big smile, "Thanks Ukki." Then the lady said something about no being his girlfriend. She was denying it. Well at least that's what yachiru thought.
She turned to face Yachiru and gave him a playfull smile, "Maybe if you gave your girlfriend some candy, she won't say that she's not your girlfriend."
When the lady said something about Ukki being someone's type, Yachiru got a little confused. Yachiru cocked her head to the side and brought her finger up, "I didn't know that Ukki was a type." She said and gigled.
She then turned back around to the captain and gigled again, "Hehe."
